Dr. Sushil Kumar, Director, National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal is seen releasing the publication “Indian Dairy Industry” at the National Seminar sponsored by the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and organized by the Dairy Technology Society of India at NDRI, Karnal on 21 December, 2005. Dr. Sushil Kumar is an eminent Food Technology Scientist. He worked in Senior positions in leading Dairy Research Institutions and organizations in India visited several countries, representing ICAR and as a technical expert. He contributed over 124 research papers in national and international journals and professional books.

FLUID MILK & FROZEN DAIRY PRODUCTS in all their aspects
1. Fluid Milk Section will cover all aspects of Milk Production including availability of breeds in different regions of the country. Diseases, medicines, availability of feed, fodder, milk production per lactation period, role of cross breeding, viability of going for cross breeding. And any other aspect related to milk production.
2. Availability of surplus milk, mode of milk collection, preservation, chilling, mode of payment, feasibility of adopting milk production as one of the economic factors for rural peoples. Milk adulteration.
3. The various types of milk processing procedures available, types of plants and machinery involved, basic principles of using these plants and machinery, test procedures adopted, principles of conducting all these operations. Hurdles faced by milk plants in all or any of these parameters.
4. Packaging materials available. Feasibility of processing, packaging, distribution and marketing of fluid milk/ frozen dairy products.
Frozen Dairy Products
Different kinds of frozen dairy products manufactured region-wise or country-wise. Various raw materials used for the same, compositional factors, type and quality of raw ingredients used. And all other ingredients like fruits (fresh/dried), flavours (synthetic/ natural), colours. Technologies involved, plant equipments needed, quality control aspects with basic principles. Health and hygienic regulations, packaging, marketing strategies including distribution and retaling and any other parameters.
